Lenovo Qualcomm Laptops

Have anyone of you brought a Qualcomm ARM laptop? Or do you know anyone who has brought one?

How is the experience? Were you able to run any Linux distro on it? What about running Linux in WSL? How good is the app/software support?

I’m highly tempted to buy this:

it need to boot with UEFI on Arm …

I have already ordered it and am getting it today. I’m going to start with running :enos: on WSL.

I still need Windows since my University doesn’t have good support for linux.
In the meanwhile I’ll try to develop support for it. Apparently, ubuntu is running pretty well. If that’s so, I can try to replicate what they’re doing.

Update:

:enos: arm working on WSL.

Use case pretty limited now, you can run Linux apps on windows both terminal and graphical.

Any updates on this? I’ve gotten an Elitebook Ultra G1q working on postmarketOS, off the top of my head everything works aside from battery level and wifi being a bit buggy under high load.

The kernel support isn’t there yet and Snapdragon has pulled back support on X1 Elite but are instead focusing more on upcoming X2 chips.
I haven’t been keeping track on other distros right now since I need my Laptop for work and I can’t wipe Windows and test on it.

There kernel support is quite recent, but it is there - this thing’s booting with linux-postmarketos-mainline, i.e. 6.19_rc8. It should be in stable any day now.

Anyways, how can I help?

Thats great news, I’ll look into it more and when it’s ready for testing, I’ll ping you!!

Thank you!

Would recommend checking out the MR, not just the wiki page. It’s linked there, but figured I’d let you know so you don’t miss it.
