It’s always fascinated me as to what people can do with open source packages, and the scale and depth of real artistic skill with Krita is amazing. I love flicking through the latest submissions on this site ;
I use Krita to make art, it is a very versatile and powerful tool. There is a well known self-taught professional artist who uses it called David Revoy, he started doing art with open source software in Linux since 2009 because he become sick and tired of Windows and Adobe, etc. This blog is from 2013 but he still uses open source and blog posts even last week.
He has a YouTube channel that is interesting and also has the blog on his website. He has also made loads of various brush packs on the Krita website and releases them for free for anyone to use.
He was a bit of an inspiration for me to make art on Linux since I used to use Photoshop before on Windows but he proved what could be done on Krita. Now I mostly use Krita, but also Photopea for the small things that are in Photoshop and not in Krita.
