After the update today, Kleopatra won’t start anymore. How to fix it ?
I am on Gnome / Wayland. Never had any problems with Kleopatra with Qt6 on Wayland before.
This is what I get when I want to start Kleopatra:
[gattino@cryptux ~]$ kleopatra
qt.core.qobject.connect: QObject::connect: No such signal QPlatformNativeInterface::systemTrayWindowChanged(QScreen*)
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry verbose of component "tpm2daemon"
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry quiet of component "tpm2daemon"
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry debug-level of component "tpm2daemon"
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry log-file of component "tpm2daemon"
The Wayland connection experienced a fatal error: Errore di protocollo
Before the update: No Problem.
I hope someone can help me with this problem, I use Kleopatra very often.
works fine, but prints out the following errors on the console:
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry verbose of component "tpm2daemon"
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry quiet of component "tpm2daemon"
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry debug-level of component "tpm2daemon"
gpg.qgpgme: found no group for entry log-file of component "tpm2daemon"
And I have to press ctrl+c after quit kleopatra to return to the terminal prompt.
obviously I have to launch the program from terminal otherwise it won’t work…
So running it on x11 works for you but still prints the same stuff about not finding the tpm related stuff. I installed kleopatra on kde wayland to take a look at what is happening. It launches fine with the same tpm stuff in the terminal, so I don’t think that is important.
I believe the reason for that as I discovered by installing it on my system. Kleopatra closes to the system tray. Gnome doesn’t support a system tray. You will need an extension for it, so all apps that utilize a system tray are broken by default on gnome.
This probably also explains this line:
Were using a system tray extension before the update?
Yes, the problem is precisely this (Thanks for letting me point out: I did not understand it…) in fact if when I close the application I close it definitively (without letting it remain in the background) no longer gives me back the problem of the CTRL+C
On Vorta Borg But I had never noticed the problem as, since I backup manually, when I close it I never let him continue to work in background.
I don’t understand why it no longer work on Wailand and I have to make it work in X11. Until before the last update it worked perfectly.
I hope that Kleopatra’s development team soon resolves the problem (perhaps from the next update).
That you know is a way to change the application launcher and add the string in order not to have to open a terminal every time to start the program?
