Keys for TAB, CAPS LOCK, LEFT SHIFT not working properly anymore

Hi,

after the latest LTS Kernel Update to 6.12.35-1-lts, some keys on my Lenovo Legion laptop keyboard seem not to work properly anymore. This behaviour is on X11 and Wayland.

The keys are: TAB, CAPS LOCK, LEFT SHIFT

They DO work sometimes but it seems like I need the right shift key to activate them now and even that does not work all the time (like there is some kind of keyboard hibernation for these keys). So I might rule out a hardware issue, right?

I tried an bluetooth keyboard and all is fine. I read through a lot of documentation regarding sticky keys and shortcuts but I can’t make up my mind about this.

Sticky Keys are off.

I am sure this is a no-brainer for some of you and there is a specific setting I am not seeing.

If anybody could nudge me to the right direction - Thank you !

Since you mentioned the LTS kernel, one thing to try to narrow down the problem would be to install the stable kernel sudo pacman -S linux linux-headers, reboot & switch to that kernel, and then see if you still have the keyboard problem.

Also, boot off the install media, if the keys do not work there, then it is a hardware issue. I have a Legion 5 and am not seeing this.

Thanks for the suggestion but I had the same outcome in Kernel 6.15 . I also created a dummy user to see whether this is some kind of configuration issue - same outcome. Since it seems to be not function at all anymore, it might be a hardware thing in the end. Will check this out. Thanks so far!
