If you mean those types of messages, thatâs just standard output of dracut.
It looks like you installed an update for the lts kernel there.
If itâs still running, that means compiling is still going.

No, compiling is finished. I meant that the linux-next-kernel is still the active one used by the OS.
Basically linux-next is running fine, so there is no real issue. However, linux-mainline was updated two days before and is already 6.8rc5, while linux-next is still rc4. And linux-mainline should, in priciple, be be the safer pick as well.
Iâm not sure Iâm following, but if you were running mainline and the built linux-next-git and the installed it using this.
sudo pacman -Syu linux-next
Then it will install that kernel and also update any packages, so if at that time there was an update for the lts kernel it will install that as well. I would just use linux-mainline if I were you and check every now and then if you audio devices work in the lts or default kernel, if it at one point works you will know when you can switch over to a kernel already in in the repos.

Yes it is. It shows up in the Grub menu and starts without any issues as well. How can this be set as default?

Edit: Nevermind! Sound isnât working with it. So linux-next is currently the way to go.
I donât use grub, but there is a setting for it in /etc/default/grub but I canât remember the name of the setting.
