Dear community, the reason for my inquiry is to know if the implementation of the Linux code in its version 6.11 will bring changes for laptops with AMD processors and similarly for older computers. Also, what specific changes does this kernel bring for the EndeavourOS community?
Not really much. You can search here and see from past kernels. Probably searching for just the number will give you details of some issues. Usually new kernels can introduce regressions which usually happen around bluetooth, sleep/restore/hibernate of laptops, sometimes touchpads.
Most will or should have the linux-lts kernel installed. This allows one to flip to it should a kernel regression appear in the main line kernel.
Thank you very much for the reply.
I would avoid it currently. Especially if you have a RNDA3 GPU since currently RNDA3 wouldn’t boost correctly anymore so for now i’m stuck to 6.10.7 since that is the last Kernel that boosted correctly (thinking about switching to LTS for that reason) Following the gitlab they seem to experiment a lot currently to get that fixed.
The LTS kernel is also affected by this:
Wow didn’t know that, that sucks. Thanks for telling me though, so i don’t waste my time switching. So i’m stuck on 6.10.7 for now lol.
