Keeping it real 😁

My dog got hit by a car but he lived and I’m really happy about that here are his pictures at the veterinarian I haven’t picked him up yet but I’m going in the afternoon to get him.

I don’t honestly know how I could live without him. He was on a harness and did some Houdini s***. Next time I will always attach his leash to his collar instead and never use a harness again I don’t think. I’m so happy he’s alive he’s made such a difference in my life like that dog I love more than just about anything in the world.

He had surgery on his lung. The bleeding stop so he’s okay now thank God. They said there could have been complications but 90% of the time the dog heals without continuous bleeding and thank God he did. It was on a residential street in the car was going I don’t know a little faster than the speed limit but that’s okay I mean it’s not his fault my dog was off his leash and he hit him apparently in his lung. Thank God it wasn’t his head or his heart. I keep thinking about how it could have been so much worse but from now on I will safely have my dog on his leash attached to his collar from now on I promise that. Also there is a really busy Street next to me where cars going much faster and I’m glad it wasn’t there that he got hit. This will never happen again though. I got this from now on no more harnesses. The lady at the emergency veterinarian office told me that this happens a lot with harnesses.

I’m just so happy he’s alive and with me. He looks scared in those veterinarian photos. They sent them to me through text message after they got done with his surgery. He’s going to need a lot of comfort.

Update: he is doing very good…

Thank you very much for real

Oh yeah I just thought of something

I’m going to do some training classes when I get out of debt instead of get a computer

He really could use some training practice haha maybe who knows I could even get him to recall at some point in time but the most important thing is that he’s secure on his leash and that means attached to his collar from now on. I learned my lesson but thank you VERY much Rune (the dog) :dog2: appreciates you guys as well

:pray::mending_heart:

It truly is a miracle he’s alive :muscle::100:

Glad he’s okay. Mine was off leash this morning training and also ran across the road when he saw another dog. Could have been hit by a car too. I got lucky.

Yeah, my previous Aussie I always felt comfortable with off-leash even in Houston. My current Aussie totally loses his mind if he sees another dog or a person and would certainly dash into oncoming traffic. He has no self-control in a purely excited friendly way :frowning:
I firmly believe in a dog being trained for off-leash activities, because sometimes things happen (and he/she is off leash), but I also realize that some dogs are better suited mentally for the challenge and some not ;(

:heart: everything you said seems true to me

Indeed it is a dangerous thing owning a dog it’s a lot of responsibility this is the last one I’ll ever own because like it’s more than I can handle but like I love the one I got I’ll just never own another one I just cherish cherish cherish this one and you’re right it is dangerous when they get out in the road. Never can I allow such a thing to happen again where my dog is harmed it’s just unacceptable

I talked to the veterinarian too and they said to have him attached to the harness and the collar so I’ll have it done to both from now on I just hope it’s enough
