Kdeconnect in dark mode?

Is this even possible? My whole everything is dark mode, and I switch screens to kdeconnect and I need to put on sunglasses and my entire room lights up.

I’ve tried adding qt5ct - and settings are now set to dark. I added libqdark-git. . . nothing.

I don’t know if it’s even possible. . . but if any of you have managed to get this, I’d be grateful.

It definitely supports dark theming. If kde-connect installed from the repos or some other source? Is it only kde connect or all qt apps which aren’t dark for you?

If you don’t have any other qt applications, qbittorrent an easy one to test with.

Did you do everything else required to make that work? Set env variable and login/logout/reboot?

It does in Plasma 100%, I use it on my normal computer which is why it’s so much noticably brighter. No problem with qbittorrent.

Even more interesting - kdeconnect settings is in dark mode, it just seems sms isn’t

Have you tried setting theme in qt6ct ?

XFCE.
Didn’t notice that…
Works on KDE

Works fine on my KDE. Yup :slight_smile:

Oooo. No, I did qt5ct, not 6. . .

Edit: Also didn’t do anything

Is it possible you have a flatpak or snap. That would definitely cause this behavior.

In /etc/environment did you add QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=“qt5ct” ?

I did not add it, but it’s already there.

#
# This file is parsed by pam_env module
#
# Syntax: simple "KEY=VAL" pairs on separate lines
#
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct
#QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=kvantum
BROWSER=firefox
EDITOR=nano

What is the deal with KDE connect. What do you use it for? I installed the app on the phone. So it’s for use not plugging in the phone with usb. What do you do with it? Not sure if it’s something i want or could use because i don’t know much about the app.

I use it for text messages, and as an input so I can use my phone as the mouse when I’m watching football and reload/exit out of advertisements or whatever comes up. I also use it to easy transfer photos.
