[KDE/Wayland] Firefox doesn't start?

Hey all!

For some reason firefox doesn’t work for me. I’m up to date, on KDE and using Wayland.

result is the same with regular firefox and firefox-opensuse-bin.

These are the errors it spits out. Any thoughts?

Try this:
Rename the “.firefox” folder to “.firefox-bkp”,

mv .mozilla .mozilla-bkp

then launch Firefox as usual.

Post the output of the below command, please.

If that’s all you get, it means you don’t have the standard Firefox package installed.

Please run the following, then try to launch Firefox again.

sudo pacman -Syu firefox

it removes the opensuse version due to conflict. same error.

Okay. Reinstall your preferred version, then create a new temporary user login for your device and try to launch it. If it works, there is an issue with your current user settings.

If it doesn’t launch, try using KDE (X11).

If even this doesn’t work, you probably have some proxy or extra setting that you enabled causing this issue.

Post the output of the below here:

locale

In particular, this part should match with what you want/set it to be.

LANG=

If it doesn’t match, you can edit it like this:

sudo nano /etc/locale.gen
sudo locale-gen

Reboot.

Nah. You can’t be a quitter and use Arch Linux properly. Otherwise, you will have bigger problems down the road.

Have you tried logging into to X11? Do you know how to log into X11?

i’ll check X11 later for testing purposes, but of course i’m not interested in using it.

If none of this works, it may be your .bashrc or .zshrc files causing the issue.

me, no. but this install is very old. was originally Antergos. then straight Arch. then Endeavour.
