Starting in Plasma 6.2, that changes, and I’d like to introduce what it will look like! From 6.2 onwards, Plasma itself will show a system notification asking for a donation once per year, in December.

Once a year feels pretty fair. Better than the 5-6 times a week I have to close the wikipedia begging link at least.

Good on them.
And even though I do donate to Wikipedia. They are clearly paying writers to send these super emotionally charged emails to people who previously donated. I get them every so often. I much prefer this even though I already donate to plasma anyways.

The work KDE e.V do for Plasma is incredible, if they had even half of the donations Mozilla get, - from donation requests which are far more intrusive compared to what KDE is proposing, they could literally employ people full time to work on Plasma. That’s a win, and I’m all for it. Glad to see they’re not afraid to ask more openly now.
