My kwin-effects-better-blur-dx kaput, now I’m in opaque mode.

On the surface, Union application style looks similar to Breeze

All updated. My kwin-effects-better-blur-dx died as well. Enabled regular blur in Window Management > Desktop Effects, and all seems fine.

Oh, works on Dolphin as well? Interesting

Edit:
Regular blur not working for me

Maybe it’s just me, or maybe my mirrors are still syncing, but it seemed to not be that many KDE packages?

If ever there was a time for the “Corporate wants you to find the difference between those pictures” meme… this is the time.

:glasses:

I hurried, hurried and updated my system - only to discover that I had Plasma 6.7 installed from the extra-testing repo since Tuesday, and in beta form since May.

Since there’s no changes to the packages, I guess this really was a good release!

Got it up and running. Looking good so far

That’s odd.

I even completely removed Better Blur DX (yay -Rns kwin-effects-better-blur-dx) figuring I’d reinstall when I see it working again for others. But regular Blur seems to be working just fine here.

Have you restarted your machine?

Yep. Twice, booted into 2 different kernels.

The only different is that I uninstalled using sudo pacman -Rs kwin-effects-better-blur-dx command. Hmmm

Strange. I don’t have Union.

It’s an additional optional package:

I installed it manually. I just removed it. Still at development stage.
sudo pacman -S union

I thought it came as a choice by default after updating.

No, it’s still in development and this is pretty much only for testing / to get some feedback:

Union is under heavy development, and hence off by default. To test it out, make sure the union package is installed (name may differ depending on your OS), and select “Union” in System Settings > Colors & Themes > Application Style.

Applications must be restarted in order to use Union, and are expected to look nearly identical to Breeze.

If you’ve found a Union-specific issue, please report it here.

You’ll find the language abbreviations here : https://tesseract-ocr.github.io/tessdoc/Data-Files

I’m wondering if it’s a combination of regular Blur and Darkly then…
