KDE Plasma 6.4 Released!

It would just be a package in the package list for KDE. Any of those can be unchecked.

Perfect smooth update here. I really like some of the new features/improvements.
Spectacle is much tidier, and creating a new folder is pretty cool too.

I first installed kwin-x11 and then plasma-x11-session. So I installed the dependency before … :face_with_peeking_eye:

Yes! Love the improvement on Spectacle. Default to selection mode.

I’ve to admit KDE is hard to beat at the moment.
And the small improvements here and there really add a lot of value overall

Will wait for one more week before updating. But thanks to EOS and Arch developers for making this possible.

Disagree on the part of lack of vision or where it is headed. Disagree that KDE is tough.

Agree on the lack of documentation. Agree that Nerds are minority. But KDE is most easy to use DE out there.

All in all it seems to be a review from someone who is using Windows and expects the same behavior and way of working.
Love KDE. Great work KDE Developers.

This person has been using Linux for a while, just check the different topics he talks about in his videos as well as the history of KDE Plasma and Gnome. You could argue the same for those that disagree with how Gnome sees the desktop :upside_down_face:

IS there a time frame for phasing out X11 support from KDE and QT entirely?

I was under the impression that X11 has almost been abandoned by its developer base. No new features or capabilities are being developed.

” Our plan is to handle everything on that page such that even the most hardcore X11 user doesn’t notice anything missing when they move to Wayland”.

This is the way it should be. I have nothing against Wayland. It’s the future and I accept it. If they make the transition from X11 to Wayland smooth then no one should have complaints.
