Yep, sometimes the hassle outweighs the need, I think this might be one of those times.

I install better blur from the git repo, you just need to rebuild it after each Plasma update which only takes a couple of minutes, and then you need to deactivate it and reactivate it.
I guess you need to rebuild it so it’s built against the current Plasma libraries.

Yes, if you install it from the AUR don’t forget to do a clean rebuild as well

Seems like this release has caused some issue for me. The desktop session ends up in a very broken state where i get a black screen but can use krunner and still use programs 
Try restarting plasma with kstart5 plasmashell or killall plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell, i have the same issue since previous update, plasma crashing out of nowhere when watching videos. If i recall correctly, someone else on the forum is having the same issue
