KDE Plasma 6.3.0 Monitor brightness goes to 100% after I switch the switched-off monitor back on

Hello!

I have only had the problem since KDE Plasma 6.3.0. Unfortunately I have the problem on both monitors as soon as I switch them off and then on again. Normally the left one (Iiyama GB2760QSU-B1) is at 5% brightness and the right one (Dell S2721DGFA) is at 70%.

What I have noticed is that as soon as one monitor is switched off it disappears from the display setup in the settings. As soon as it is switched on again, the brightness goes to 100%.

The solution here would of course be to simply deactivate DDC/CI but unfortunately I can’t do that with the Iiyama monitor.

If you have any Idea please let me know.

Just an little update. I disabled DDC/CI on the Dell Monitor and I set the automatic brightness to 15% in the power management for the other monitor (5% was a bit too dark). This now works as a workaround, it’s not great but unfortunately I had no other idea.

hi there; i don’t know how to solve it but recent updates got messed with colors and display up; experience in general decreased; I also have iiyama monitor and all became wierd, idk how to explain it better ;d for example i have night light turned on all the time and until now i had nice and pleasant orange like color temp and now it’s all red as hell. Applying ICC profile helped a bit but still not the same. Plasma + Wayland + AMD ancient R7 Thinkpad T495, so we share almost the same setup.

UPDATE: I have a second laptop on intel with EndeavourOS and everything is fine there… So, it’s something between Plasma and AMD…

UPDATE2: changing brightness doesn’t work, no effect, doesn’t matter whether i set it 0% or 100%, no diffirence

Hello!

What is the situation when you switch to X11 (for testing)? Also very red or maybe better?

Same thing, no diff Wayland vs X11. Both also don’t allow to change brightness while it was possible before, I’m 100% sure that.

Okay can’t help you with the brightness I think but at what value did you set your nightlight? Mine is at 4800 K.
