@smsmith Exactly that problem was fixed for me ![]()
Thanks
, I already installed the updates, but haven’t let my PC go into suspend yet, now I will. ![]()
Agreed. I just prefer KDE. ![]()
Fabulous, I’ll give it a shot this weekend.
Holy updates today on KDE! I think it’s rolling? ![]()
Rolling with KDE Gear 22.12.3 in the Arch repos on the day of release ![]()
Update: 5.27.2 Is supposed to solve the issue but not for some peoples like me ![]()
I got no issues!
Same here
Is anyone else trying to use Discover as the default package management system for their EndeavourOS build? I’m having trouble where Discover’s Update doesn’t list the same amount of system update packages as UpdateinTerminal or Pamac.
Here is UpdateinTerminal vs Discover
Here is UpdateinTerminal vs Pamac
Discover is clearly not getting all of the system updates. I just can’t figure out why. BTW, I did sudo rm /var/lib/PackageKit/alpm/db.lck and that did not fix the issue.
With discover did you add packagekit-qt5
It was already installed. I found out what my issue was. I did not run pkcon refresh force…

Is that just a one time issue?
No. It seems like I have to do this on one of my machines every other week! I submitted a bug report to the KDE team:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466783
Should I also submit one on the EndeavourOS side?
No discover isn’t installed on EndeavourOS.
Ok, that makes sense. I forgot that UpdateinTerminal is the default for EndeavourOS. However, I like using Discover to install Flatpaks and keep KDE addons up to date.
A lot of Arch based distros do not include Discover cause it always manages to have Issues. Of late my tools of choice are Flatpak installed via Konsole, Pikaur, Pacseek, and Topgrade for updating everything in one go.
Yeah, I hated Discover when it first came out. It was slow (to update packages) and buggy on all of the distributions I originally used it on and it was also always hanging. The KDE Plasma Team put a lot of work into it. It looks nice now and works well on my Surface Pro 8. However, it’s still kinda slow and hangs a little on my Asus Strix gaming laptop.
I could only take the developments of this D.E. on EndeavourOS. Because Debian “Testing” struck out for me lately.
“Sid” is not an option for me. Was going to check out BigLinux but changed my mind, give me Manjaro but nothing based on it please. I’m not sure if they have the latest Plasma anyway. I am writing this from Manjaro KDE which “System Settings/About” reports v5.26.5.
I can confirm that my multi-monitor support problem has been resolved in one of these newest updates as first reported by @MermaidMan.
EndeavourOS endeavours to enable its users to experience the fruits of KDEs latest endeavours.
