KDE is to Linux what 7 was to Windows

Me not. Sorry
But I do like my EnOS-Gnome :innocent:

And at that moment, Gnome knocks on the door to hand out informational pamphlets.

Lol. Actually I have tried KDE chronically, as in after every update since 5.8. In fact I ran KDE as my daily from 5.3-5.8 and then KDEPIM took a crap. Then the bugs started to come back, docking did not work properly, and a litany of other annoyances. Finally the straw that broke imy back with KDE was the suggestion that I run KDEPIM as a flatpak. Then I gave Gnome another shot, took a dose of patience so I would not jump on the update until a couple of weeks after release and surprise no extensions breaking and I get a fully integrated PIM. I still check KDE because I did love it, but I can’t unsee all the graphical glitches, or get rid of the feeling that something is going to break when I use it.

Ive never had a bug in kde yet! No graphical glitches if you have the right hardware. No problems if you don’t customize the hell out of it. I just install it and use it with minor changes to the looks. Nothing major.

Same, no bugs for me either with KDE and I have been using it for years. I have had lots of bugs with Gnome, that taskbar and add-on was a complete nightmare. One add-on even prevented me from booting into my system. Had to use a live disk and remove it manually. Haven’t used the new 4.0 though, so not sure if they have revamped that horrible taskbar/add-on system.

I just don’t like gnome enough compared to Kde and then Xfce, or Cinnamon and i would also do i3 or Bspwm. But i use KDE the most because it’s very smooth, fast and fluid.

You are a lucky KDE user then. I have had nothing but subpar experiences across 10 laptops none with hybrid graphics, and 3 desktops all with AMD cards, since roughly the end of the 5.8 updates. The thing that really gets to me is the way it handles hotswapping monitors, and docking and undocking. It never works right for me, and if I have to go fiddling with a custom xorg file just to configure it so it does what Gnome does correctly every time…well at that point it is just not worth my time. I have noticed that my woes usually coincide with the fact that I am primarily a laptop user, and have been in the past very mobile.

Most of the graphical glitches have occurred in relation to latte-dock, and yes I realize this is not a part of kde, however I find it qute necessary since plasma panels hide/unhide has long been a zero delay mess, and the traditional windows like taskbar just does not work for me. Also a lot of them are theme related inconsistencies.

Just wish they would spend more time fixing all of the little things.

I am primarily a plasma user these days but I don’t use that many apps from the k* ecosystem. I think you can like(or dislike) kde/plasma regardless of your experience with those applications.

To be fair, that is a long time ago.

Will you lot stop it with that off-topic tech babble and stick to the important thing here? Beer!
Carlsberg? You must not have had a Plzeňský Prazdroj before!

Carlsberg is pretty decent, but Franziskaner Hefeweizen is my jam. I would put a hurt on someone for a Union Pivo, Gavrilovic Jetrena Pasteta, a hunk of cheese, and some real peasant rye the big 2kg loaves rigt out of the oven. Been too long.

Love it !! you funny . it made my day :+1:

This title is cr*p!! I fail to see the alleged comparison between a super advanced DE like KDE to anything Windows related. It just doesn’t make sense.
