Jitsi won't install

Executed “yay -S jitsi-meet”.Several references to this version no longer supported. Is Jitsi installable or must I use another OS?

-> Failed to install the following packages. Manual intervention is required:
jitsi-meet - exit status 4
[ion@ion-desk ~]$

The actual error is above that one.

We would need to see the full output to provide better feedback.

This installed. Not jitsi-meet as advised on Internet help.

yay -S jitsi

This package hasn’t been updated in nearly six years. I don’t think you should use it.

You do not need to install anything to connect to a Jitsi Meet session. Connect using your web browser.

If you really want a desktop client, then jitsi-meet-desktop would be the maintained option (and the AUR package maintained by xiota of the chaotic-aur).

The jitsi-meet package you were originally trying to install was a component of a Jitsi Meet server, for if you’re trying to self-host.

If you want to self-host your own server, that’s a different story, and requires quite a lot more setup.

Have been using jitsi with great results for quite some time. Never installed an app. Just use your browser like you’ve noted. :+1:t2:
