Excited for this. This is the new memory standard that was developed by Dell. As well as making it easier to include more memory in a smaller footprint, this is ALSO capable of using replaceable LPDDRN(x), thus making upgradable LPDDR a possibility if OEM’s choose to offer it.

I’m super excited to see CAMM2. We got some rumours out of Computex earlier this year, about strange new “CAMM-adjacent” modules at some memory manufacturers’ booths, and I was somewhat concerned that manufacturers might try to make it proprietary to avoid giving up the soldered memory upgrade market, but I was very glad to be proven wrong. Also, CAMM2 looks to have a significantly smaller footprint as well compared to the original CAMM, which should help adoption in smaller, more integrated devices like handhelds where the priority lies less in power efficiency and perforrmance and more in just being able to fit the damn thing in there to begin with.
