Japanese input in the terminal ? (No desktop enviroment)

Hello, I have been using my EOS installation with japanese language since install, so all my directories on /home/user/ are in japanese, probably some day I’ll need to access them in a terminal without a desktop environment for some reason (I use stuff in kde to write in japanese)

Is there a way to enter those directories in an hypothetical situation without my desktop environment for example using cd into a directory called “文字” ?

I think you need to have fbterm installed for this. This guy here has some good examples how to run a system GUI-free with fbterm and tmux. (Maybe a good alternative for @Kresimir instead of Wayland?)

For the Japanese input, I think you better ask in a generic Japanese Linux User Group. They should know much better how to input Kanji in a non-GUI environment.
