Issues with running steam games in full screen mode on wayland after system upgrade?

So since the latest system upgrade I have some problems opening Steam games that are actually running ‘Platinum’. For example Ghost of Tsushima or GTFO never had problems, but now this:

Strangely it runs in the background and when I open it in windowed mode it works, but not in full screen. Can anyone help me? (I’m on Wayland)

Have you tried running the game via gamescope to mitigate this?
if not installed,

sudo pacman -S gamescope

Then go to the game that you are trying to play and use these launch commands:

gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
