Hello, I am trying to adjust my boot manager and think I need some help.
I had a partition of EndeavourOS that I had set up some time ago. I installed a new partition of Windows so I could dual boot, and managed to get things working well. However, I recently installed a new partition of EndeavourOS and switched to that partition for daily use. However, I am having difficulty getting the new boot menu to show my previous EndeavourOS partition or the Windows partition.
I think on my original install of EndeavourOS, I used the GRUB boot manager. I must have forgotten this, or else decided I wanted to try UEFI, so I selected that for the new installation.
I have tried switching to the rEFInd boot manager. I have rune rEFInd-install, and it reports a success. Running efibootmgr before and after running rEFInd-install shows an option for the rEFInd Boot Manager. After running efibootmgr, rEFInd Boot Manager is listed as the first in the BootOrder, but after restarting, the same boot menu shows, and when I use efibootmgr again, the default boot manager has changed back away from rEFInd Boot Manager.
I am a bit perplexed and am having trouble understanding the Arch wiki pages that might be helpful in this case. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
If desired, I can restart to post a picture of the boot menu. It shows three options:
A linux boot, a backup linux boot, and a ‘restart to firmware’ option that takes me to the BIOS. I can still reach the Windows and old EndeavourOS installations by entering the BIOS and changing the boot order manually.
