If your system is very out of date, I would deal with your repo packages first.
Start with sudo pacman -Syu and deal with any errors you get from that before you worry about AUR
Also, never use --overwrite blindly like that.
its fine if it breaks i have ran this alot it usually it work it does have risks bit thanks for the warning
