Is this the right way to remove discover from plasma 6?

I want to remove discover. It is installed by plasma-meta.
I have read in some threads that it is not advantageous to have the entire plasma-meta package installed

Is this the right way to do it? What else should I bear in mind?

Yes. That should be all there is to it. Remove the meta package and then mark everything in the meta package as explicitly installed.
