When you install through the online installer, you always receive the latest packages on a new install. However, given the latest DDoS attacks on Arch’s side, installation can be problematic, at the moment.

We did explain the infrequent ISO releases and what we do with the last released ISO in this announcement.

There is a new ISO release coming, but given the earlier Arch repo issue, we are waiting until the whole thing is solved.

Please note with the latest Attacks on Arch. Install can fail with the Online Option. This has happened a few times to me this week. So Offline maybe the only installable option at times.

The only thing I can say is to try it first in a VM. I have been receiving and installing updates daily without issues. I just successfully updated my systems half an hour ago.
