I don’t seem to be able to connect to the AUR. Is it down? Anyone knows why?
I get a similar issue ![]()
I’m not getting any connection to the AUR either. So why does it say ‘All Systems Operational’ at the top, when 25th April is showing a red bar for the AUR? I’m confused.
Which is why I said to look at the red bar. It’s the same scenario when arch got ddos attacked. The thing on top said for a long time everything is fine, till more red bars came then it said there may be problems with some services or something.
It’s that software that is used that does it like that, uptime Kuma or something it’s called
Current status
Degraded performance for aur.archlinux.org
Unfortunately the AUR is experiencing high load due to an ongoing DDoS attack. We have been able to stablilize things and the service should be available mostly, but sometimes users might still experience degraded performance
Again really?! Who is Ddos’ing Arch? And why? Microsoft? ![]()
Looks like bill gates to me ![]()
This started yesterday afternoon for me. Was shut out of AUR til bedtime.
Fine today.
FWIW
I wonder who stands to gain with DOSing the AUR (repeatedly)?
There is a small possibility that it could be
as something seems to have upset them recently, and the regime (and its proxies) have been launching a wide range of DDoS and other cyber attacks.
OK…that’s Stupid if so…how small and petty! ![]()
It’s the nature of the Internet.
When one has Internet facing services, one must assume that any vulnerability can and will be exploited. Who’s doing it is somewhat beside the point, because if it wasn’t them, then it could just as soon be anyone else, including the bored script kiddy, or LLM bot.
In that sense, it’s not about finding who to blame, it’s about finding ways to stop it from being exploitable.
Sadly this is the
world we live in right now ![]()
It could also be a botnet vendor either testing or advertising their DDOS capabilities who unfortunately decided the AUR is a nice target
Could also be Manjaro ![]()
I think that’s quite insulting towards doge… ![]()
Doge’s involvement in cryptocurrencies turned him to the dark side ![]()
