Installing using Nvida - Newer Cards only selection

Hello All! Should be right section for this post.

Installed EOS today using the Nvidia newer cards only selection on the ISO’s grub. I’ve always used that selection with no issue on my Nvidia systems. It boots to the live desktop and after all gets started I pop into settings and go to About this System and check the graphics. It said Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 so all good right? Proceed to the install and when thats done, boot into the fresh install and its NV176.
I noticed the the nvidia-open package, along with a few others, are flagged. I find that strange as they were updated on 5/13 and flagged on the 15th. Anyways, I pacman’d my way into Nvidia-open land and now have the 3060 running with its drivers.
The Nvidia package is not flagged, just the -open packages.

I was just wondering if the installer bypassed installing the nvidia drivers because they are flagged or is there a bug in the installer? Also, why are they flagged after just two days since last update (if anyone knows)?

can you share installer logs?

Just checked seems a change somehow causing an issue.

Both nvidia and nvidia-open have version 570.144-5. I assume nvidia-open is falsely flagged at the Arch web site. As far as I know anyone can flag packages, and not always the flag is reasonable.

Flagging is irrelevant for nvidia-inst.

Did the installer fail to install nvidia-open? That wasn’t clear above.
