Installing and using NordVPN

Hi all

New arrival here from Mint … looking good so far

I want to install NordVPN, preferably with a graphical interface of some sort. I’m already a subscriber and in Mint I could use a Python-based launcher that would give a list of countries and then servers to select from.

Anything similar to this in EOS, and if so, what is a safe way of setting this up?

Many thanks.

I havent’t used it personally but NordPy is in the AUR. You can install it with:

yay -S nordpy

If you can do without a GUI, you can create your vpn connections in the NetworkManager already installed in your system. A little bit manual work needed.

Brilliant, thanks dalto.

Hi cactux (neat pun, BTW)

A GUI is not critical, just easier. However, if this is something doable in the NM, then that’s fine. Do you have any links to a decent tutorial on how to set this up. I’m using Mate if this matters?

Cheers

I’m not that familiar with Mate but the principle should be the same.

NordVPN is not that good or trustworthy if I were you I would go with Mullvad VPN

I used them for years and thy keep NOTHING(thy were raided in the past, thy got nothing from them).

Thy have an excellent Linux version that works much better then NordVPN(sure i have not tried in years) .

Mullvad VPN
Are they good for accessing georestricted content?

I use Mullvad VPN. I have for years. And yes, it does work for georestricted content as far as I can tell…

Mullvad DISABLED (I’m in the U.S.):

Mullvad ENABLED (I chose London):
