Hey, signed up straight from a live usb to post the installer log. It crashes when I reach the partition screen *and* the moment I select nvme1, it straight up crashes. First time it did “work” but it showed ext4 instead of the btrfs that I had selected. After that I switch it to ext4 and back to btrfs to fix it but it crashed and now keeps crasing. I wanted to post the log before rebooting
here’s the pastebin: https://pastebin.com/ZZhQVVBg
Are you trying to install using the whole drive?
Edit: I see the following errors in the log.
Can not resize "/dev/nvme1n1" , filesystem "unknown" does not support resize.
.. Checking if "/dev/nvme1n1" can be replaced.
.. Partition "/dev/nvme1n1" authorized for replace install.
.. contains replaceable "unallocated"
If you are using the whole drive then i would boot on the live ISO and launch gparted and create a new gpt partition. Then close gparted and run the installer to try again with swap and btrfs.
Yep, looks like it has some kind of bug there. I installed EOS today on an ex-Mint machine (also NVME) and whatever I did, it wouldn’t let me choose the whole disk but instead showed me the old Mint partitioning over and over again, even after I supposedly had erased those.
Had to close the installer, use gparted to erase the disk, then start the installer again and—ta-daa!—it showed the options for whole disk, use swapfile, etc.
