Installed apps missing from gnome shell

My Installed application seem to have disappeared from gnome shell. I am still able to open the applications using the search function but everything seems to have reset. Discord & Spotify require to sign in again and Thunderbird is missing all email accounts and need to be setup all over again. There is no icons for any installed app in the shell other than the defaults. Not sure if this is related, but lunching Thunderbird from terminal returns

Gtk-Message: Failed to load module “canberra-gtk-module”

Hi,

It sounds like your login has changed, the .desktop files have been deleted from your /usr/ folder or you have signed in as a different user.

There are two locations where the desktop launchers are saved, one specific for a user and the other shared for all users. Your missing .desktop launchers need to be added to your user instance.
