Installation failed on my Dell Laptop

Hello

i wanted to install encrypted EOS on my Dell Laptop but calamares stop the installation progress. Logfiles including

Calamares Crash Log

Inxi

boootlog

Dont know whats wrong, last time EOS was installes properly.
I deleted encrypted partitions with partition manager in LiveUSB then started Calamares.
at 32% calamares stopped the installation with the error message:

The package manager could not modify the installed system. The
< pre > pacman< /pre > command generated error code 1.

In the package selection section in the installer, uncheck the box for these two packages:

ipw2100-fw
ipw2200-fw

These are not in Arch’s repo anymore.

Edit: There is one more you need to deselect: grub-tools

Are you using an old ISO, or the current one?

installation succesful!

but on start after i set my password for encryptet partition i get an grub error: file ‘/boot/amd-ucode.img’ not found

Press any key to continue and nothing happens.

my usb stick was equipped with eos from 10.10. surely these files are no longer on the new image.
I decided to download the latest eos image

thousand thanks @pebcak, all in all it was my mistake. i should have used the latest image right away

as @r0ckhopper said: always use the latest image

I suspected that you were using an older ISO but I wanted to save you some bandwidth and time

i rarely use the laptop. let’s see how i get along with gnome.

Give it some time and perhaps don’t compare it with or expect it to act like other DE:s.
After all it’s GNOME, so you will need to do things the GNOME way. You might like it.

[joke] If I knew you were going to be running Gnome, I wouldn’t have tried to help [/joke]

i have to familiarize myself with the settings and tweaks first. everything else will come with time. otherwise i’ll just ask here

Despite being in denial, there is a GNOME deep inside each KDE user/developer
