Install is stalling at 10%, "pacman -Sy noconfirm archlinux-keyring endeavouros-keyring"

I’m copying and pasting the log here. I saw something about fat32 error, using ext4 instead, partitiontable type unset error, and eventually it stalled at a pacman keyring command at 10%. Any ideas?

Edit: I think when you select replace a partition, it doesn’t make all the smaller partitions such as the 100mb boot and the other 1gb EFI, So it gets stuck. I think this may be a bug for the devs to look at. I tried again but this time run alongside or whatever the first option was, and it automatically set aside a few partitions and installed correctly.

for which partition are you using ext4 instead of fat32? The esp is supposed to be fat32, ext4 won’t work on that.

what other EFI partition? If you have a UEFI system you need one EFI system partition (esp) with a fat32 files system. The mointpoint for this partition can be /boot /boot/efi or /efi. 100MB will be too small though. If you are using systemd-boot the partion should have at least 500MB, if you are not using multi-boot with orther os.

What are these (too) small partitions?

Could you give an overview on what you want to set up? Just EndeavourOS on a SSD or do you want to multi-boot with other os? Can you give us your partition information?

From this it sounds like you were able to install EndeavourOS, but the rest of the post doesn’t seem like it…?

What I meant is when I selected replace or write over a partition, it was an unallocated partition. The install stalled out at 10%, and I also noticed that it didn’t create the two or three extra small partitions that it normally makes when using the first option, to partition alongside by taking some storage space. Only with the alongside option did it install correctly, and only with that option did it make the additional 100mb etc partitions I assume it needed. Maybe it’s a bug I don’t know

I’m confused as to what your asking? First if your system already has (/boot /boot/efi /efi) partitions its not going to recreate them it should be able to edit them but not destroy and redo which is what it sounds like you are expecting? or are you thinking the endeavourOS is supposed to have its own boot partitions along with the other OS?

I’m not familiar enough to know, but I managed to install EOS. Replacing the unallocated partition didnt work, but installing alongside by taking partition space from an existing partition worked for me. I noticed it made smaller partitions for efi and boot, etc when installing alongside. I didnt notice that for the replace partition option, maybe thats why it didnt install correctly.
