Install Expresvpn-forget it-solved it meself

Hi,
I just updated my Expressvpn client and it looks like all the options are gone except to choose what protocol and whether network lock is on or off. I probably installed the wrong thing so I am asking here how I get my full blown client back where I can configure split tunneling etc?

I went looking for an update as the client I had was marked beta and it stopped connecting to any VPN endpoints.

I was downloading the tar file and compiling and I was NOT selecting the proper GUI, I believe.

Either way, I downloaded the universal installer (which is what I should have done in the first place) and it is fine now.

What did you install and how?

If you did something manually from outside your package manager it was likely the wrong way.

Hi CSCS-tyvm for the response.

I downloaded the universal installer for express vpn from the express vpn webpage and installed it.

IS there another way?
I am trying, as much as possible, to stick to software available via pacman yay.
I wasn’t aware it was available form arch or EndeavourOS so I just installed from the website.
However, I could not find any express vpn in yay or pacman after my very first install of Endeavour OS so, I down loaded the express vpn universal installer.
(tried to type partial name like express and hit tab-I got a few hits when I did this but not express vpn hits. Should I have done something at that point to see the express vpn packages?)
Please elaborate would you?
I’d love to know how to install it using yay or pacman, because it also does not get updated by the OS and I’d like that to happen.

expressvpn is in the AUR.

The one you would be after probably being expressvpn.

But this is a special case where that package has a note:

So that pretty well covers the whole situation.

Hey guys,

Yep.

I just read that myself AND, while I was reading that note I remembered that the app did update itself a short time after I installed it.

I remember being pleasantly surprised at the time.

THAT is my ADHD memory loss kicking in. IF I had not read that note I probably would not have remember the app updating itself.

Sigh…story of my life.

SO, I even typed in my last post that I would LOVE to get the app via pacman or yay so it would update itself and even thinking/typing that into the above post DID NOT jog that memory.

I just started my medication a month or so ago.
It’s helping a lot but it looks like I might need the next higher dose.

Thanks guys Cheers!!
