This wiki about Ibus mentioned fcitx5 as a related article, so I thought the topic might help.
fcitx5 is an alternative to iBus – However the layout I am using is only supported in iBus
I found a solution.
First, remove iBus from startup applications and remove QT_IM_MODULE
and GTK_IM_MODULE
environment variables.
Go to Settings -> Keyboard -> Virtual Keyboard
and choose iBus Wayland
. Reboot. Afterwards, it should work. You may have to choose your input languages once again in iBus settings.
