If you deleted the Desktop directory, you can just run:
cd; mkdir Desktop
This will create an empty Desktop directory for your current user.

This is applicable in general, mkdir just creates an empty directory.

Look in your trash directory if it is still there. If not, I hope you have a backup, otherwise, it’s gone, I’m afraid.
You could remove the drive from the computer, as soon as possible and take it to a data recovery expert, but the longer you wait and more you use your computer with the drive in it, the chance to recover it is lower.
