You probably needed to use prime render?
how to do that?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PRIME#top-page
Edit: Itās intended for muxless hybrid graphics. I donāt know how your hardware works. But i think thatās what it is. Muxless!
If you have xf86-video-intel
, you probably should uninstall it.
@cabbage_ass
The latest nvidia drivers are out 530.42.03
and then?
Reboot.
is it ok to delete the driver?
You donāt delete stuff. You uninstall it.
sudo pacman -R xf86-video-intel
it fckin worked??? visual glitches are gone on X11 but there is still error: failed to start load kernel module during boot and i boot in the system without logging in the password
Edit- nvidia driver is still N/A
ok so ran nvidia-inst
and rebooted, none that bs came up, lemme just make sure, everything is fine n dandy but optimus manager is showing error and nvidia driver is still NA
should i use nvidia-inst -p
for prime render
Honestly i donāt know how your hardware works and if you had it working before and nvidia was showing and you were able to switch graphics? I really donāt know what has happened to mess it up.
You can try but if it were me i would just start over but thatās me.
btw how did uninstalling xf86-video-intel
helped?
So it means you arenāt using the Intel driver but the kernel module instead that is built in for Intel.
Edit: This can be removed on the install in the list of packages also.
so now its time for this install to rest in peace and start from new?
Thatās entirely up to you I just donāt know what you did and why it isnāt working properly. Was it working correctly originally? Did it show the Nvidia drivers installed? Were you using optimus-manager and was it working properly to switch graphics?
yes to all
edit- as i told you it happend when downloading optimus-switcher, during that i removed nvidia xconfig, previous time also it was due to nvidia-inst -c
