OMG? Really? You have a VPN? :unamused:

I think ddnn is referring to these messages earlier in the thread.

Some VPN’s have a kill-switch / firewall, which when enabled, even when the VPN is not in use, including not yet started, all WAN traffic is blocked. In those circumstances, LAN traffic remains accessible as it’s not routed through the VPN interface. The purpose of this is to prevent any leaks to the WAN, outside of the VPN interface.

Windscribe details their version of this here:

I knew i! It just had to be the VPN or the kernel because there are countless issues people have had since the kernel update.

And I use Windscribe (in my browsers and Mullvad (systemwide), and stopped using Windscribe as my main (systemwide) VPN for both this reason, and because it was not working well with seeding my FOSS torrents for some strange reason.

That’s what all of the below was for. In case you think it’s not a problem, but it actually is:

The most important troubleshooting tip is:
If you can’t fix it yourself, pretend you have no experience or expertise or it may get in the way of a solution. Only use your “exes” when a suggestion is straight-forward, like “update grub”, and you don’t need someone to type the actual command.
