I am trying to setup triple boot, but it keeps failing

I am in no way opposed to using rEFInd. But saying that “triple boot just wouldn’t work with” Grub is just inaccurate for not saying incorrect. I was responding to that statement.

Once upon a time i put many. Here is 10 to load.

That looks great! I should perhaps have a closer look at rEFInd at some point.

My current set up is 3 EndeavourOS desktops Xfce, Cinnamon, and Plasma. One is encrypted , two are not. All 3 are running Btrfs with timeshift snap shots using grub along with rEFInd. All three have their own grub boot loader after selection from the rEFInd screen. None interferes with the other. These are on UEFI but booting on grubx64.efi not the vmlinuz-linux image.efi like above.

Edit: Honestly i wouldn’t have been able to do either of these set ups without a fair bit of help from @freebird54 and @2000

That sound’s and looks like a very nice set-up. Very interesting! I haven’t actually looked at btrfs. I know I should by now. I would love to have a set-up like yours. Perhaps adding Gnome too.

Tried the installer again on another partition, and the results were, well let’s say Cleveland Browns as far as success lol. I just pulled out an ArchBang ISO, and built it on top of it, being that it’s super minimal to where it doesn’t have even a polkit. It’s fine, just have to fix the keyring issue which I see you’re well aware of lulz, just by a cursory Google search. I might just pull the installer script and build my own Archiso with it. Either way, I got the full boat loaded (except the full XFCE4 package because I don’t use DE’s). I might get nuts and load Xmonad and DWM, just because I am a masochist with way too much time on my hands.

I literally just did a fresh install with absolutely zero issues.

Yes.

This doesn’t take the sting out of my afternoon lol. I don’t know what it is, I ran the update but the update ran like it was already on an install, the error prompted that I ran out of disk space, I was using an 8 gig USB disk that was wiped…

I just did the ArchBang, added the Archlabs repos, copied over the dotfiles from skel, after installing the WM’s of course, and it was much less frustrating than doing it with the default installation lol. I am too lazy to do an Arch install on this laptop, because I wind up ditching a former install from last week for another. This is my test machine, I don’t use it for work or save anything on it. The keyboard on it is the reason why lol. It’s gets all kinds of bits underneath them and they stick and jam.

Yeah I saw your screenshots of your DWM desktop. And why I am still attempting key driven WM’s with this stupid keyboard is because I don’t drink anymore lol. Well, only on rare occasion for the past two years. I drink for taste, and my tastes are expensive.

Drop into the AL forum so we can help you there. Possibly there is something else going on that is preventing a successful install.

I love dwm.

I do and regularly.

As do I, cost is irrelevant when it comes to a decent drink. :beers:
