Hytale Flatpak is unplayable, cannot load locally saved worlds or join servers

The game gets stuck on this when attempting to create a new world or load an existing one.

I get this error whenever I attempt to join a server.

Host: B650M C V3-Y1 (Default string-CF)
Kernel: Linux 6.18.5-arch1-1
DE: KDE Plasma 6.5.5
WM: KWin (Wayland)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT [Discrete]

I bought the game on early access launch day and it functioned perfectly fine up until now, I’ve looked everywhere for potential solutions and all of them are exclusively for the Windows version of the game. I feel lost and confused.

EDIT (1/24/26, 1:36 AM):
I currently dualboot EndeavourOS and Windows 11, I booted into Windows 11 earlier to check if I have the same issue with the Windows version of the game.

The game worked completely fine without any manual fixes, confirming that this is an issue specific to the Linux Flatpak version and my EndeavourOS install/config.

I’m the silliest goober to ever live

The issue was that in a vain attempt to fix an unrelated issue a few days ago I had disabled ipv6, specifically by adding ipv6.disable=1 to my kernel line via grub.
Dual Mode Sockets requires both ipv4 and ipv6 kernel modules to function, and since ipv6 was missing Hytale silently wept a puddle of tears in the corner of the room.

Fortunately for anyone dealing with a terrible isp, adding ipv6.disable_ipv6=1 to the kernel line instead did not impact my ability to play the game. This is what I do now, I hope this doesn’t hurt my ability to do different things in the future!

You can also just install the AUR PKBUILD instead of using the Flatpak, but it could be that you will run into the same issue with that and the problem could be in the application itself.

aur/hytale-launcher-bin 2026.01.21.11273a4-1 (+17 15.27)
    Hytale Launcher (Native Linux, Self-Updating)

Or you could just contact their support and ask them to improve the Flatpak with this ipv6 issue.
