Hi all, have the same problem again… now i got my computer back and wanted to fix my printer and scanner, and again have problem this time with my scanner ,my printer is reconised but the scanner not ? i try all these >> Printer problem hp - #6 by ricklinux < worked fine for my laptop but nogo for my pc ?
what scanner software are you using? Back in the day when I had a printer xsane did a good job of getting my scanner and allowing me to scan.
sudo pacman -S xsane << not working for me ? i did install sane
again too fast i answer installing xsane now < > yay -S xsane
xsane is in the aur. You need to use something like yay by running yay -Syu xsane
Edit: I see we overlapped

installed xsane >> yay -S xsane but still simple-scan not find my scanner
now trying “yay -Syu xsane” like you told… maybe is different

For my HP7100 I use simple-scan as the scanning program and it always works. I use HPLIP to set up printer and the simple-scan (Document Scanner in the menus) works fine
tried everything… i give up my pc only want to print … that’s fine haha when i need to scan i use my laptop ,just install compleetly new my pc… endeavouros KDE this time “intresting distro” like it too much for mess it up ,for closing this topic < > BIGG thank you all for the helping hands

My usb HP 6200C scanner still works after about 15 - plus years. It’s a flatbed scanner only. No printer. Windoze after ‘WindozeMe’ made it obsolete in all versions afterwords. It works well with all of the scanner software that is available today in Linux. I’ve got naps2, skanlite, skanpage installed.

also had one old before this one ,never any problem but also died from old age… same same old story from soo many thing in life… yup
