How to set defualt sink?

Hi all, recently my laptop stopped selecting the default sound sink properly. First when I plugged in my Bluetooth headphones they did not switch to the the fault. I fixed that by running

pactl load-module module-switch-on-connect

at login, however when I disconnect them the computer defaults to the wrong audio sink.

any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for the pointer I’ll take a look through and see what I can figure out.

turns out all I needed to do was turn off the profile for the sink that I wasn’t using.
