So before my question, here’s the context: so I have this chromebook, e-waste edition. It only has 16 GB flash storage, and 2 GB RAM. I also have a 64GB SD card. After some distro hopping, I settled on EOS with LXDE. What I did was partitioned the flash storage to store the EOS install, while the SD card contains the /home partition and a 2 GB swap partition. I’ve been having issues with the chrombook freezing up despite the CPU not being maxed out and the swap file not being filled up. I suspect that I wasn’t supposed to have the swap partition on a storage device that doesn’t contain the install. (Feel free to tell me if I’m right or wrong, I’m here to learn.)
So now I’m planning to reinstall EOS with LXDE on the SD card, and either ignore the flash storage on the chromebook itself, or maybe put a blank ext4 partition and mount it to /home/documents post-installation. (Again, feel free to tell me if this is the best move or not.)
Finally the question: is there’s a way to save all my LXDE configuration settings to a file so I can apply it immediately after I reinstall EOS? I spent a lot of time configuring the desktop so I don’t want to have to do it again.
