I’m currently using EndeavourOS as my primary system, and I’m the only user on this machine. My current username is ayrun, but i’d like to change it to astris. I also want my home directory to be renamed from /home/ayrun to /home/astris.
I’m looking for a step-by-step guide on how to do this safely, ensuring that:
- All my files, permissions, and configurations remain intact.
- My applications and services don’t break.
- My username is updated cleanly across the system.
I’d really appreciate any tips or best practices to avoid issues during the process. Let me know if any additional information is needed!
