How to revert NVIDIA Drivers to the one installed by Endeavour?

Hi, yesterday I re-installed Endavour and today i wanted to install propetary NVIDIA Drivers because of HVEC encoding. After this and HVEC still not working, I wanted to revert NVIDIA Drivers to the one I got with the Endavour installation, this is because some apps i use are not launching anymore either X11 / Wayland. How can i fix this^? Thanks!"

Welcome @Creeper215! :sunglasses: :enos_flag:

In case your GPU requires legacy drivers, it would be good if you could tell us what it is and your current driver.

inxi -G

Whether or not hardware accelerated HVEC encoding is possible may depend on what hardware you’re using too. Here’s an official table that shows what’s supported:

In terms of reverting drivers to “the one I got with the Endavour installation”, we’d first need to know what GPU you’re using. Also, the installation may install the proprietary drivers for you automatically (if Nvidia was the selected boot option when booting the live ISO), or it may fallback to the open source nouveau driver. So the answer is, it depends!

Can I ask you to share the output of this command. That will also help recommend your next steps.

nvidia-inst -t

Hi, thanks for the response! I already installed nouveau drivers with nvidia-inst -t and still some apps won’t open cause of graphics errors. by the way, here is my graphics details:

(P.S.) When i installed Endeavour, i choosed the NVIDIA install option.

To clarify, the command nvidia-inst -t does not install anything, it runs the command in test mode, but provides you with a command you might run that I was hoping you’d share.

Can you share the output of these two commands please:

inxi -S
nvidia-inst -t
