How to get yakuake to activate with shortcut

how do i get yakuake to activate with shortcut?

I LOVE the app but it would be nice to activate it quickly with a shortcut key like guake was superkey+fll if i recall correctly

i made it shown as an indcator but would rather hide it. i would rather though make it just activate with a shortcut key if possible??? IDK

The default shortcut is F12, I believe.

I tinkered with this a while ago and I’m pretty sure it tells you that on the first run and can be configured from there too, so you may have just missed it

Hey
Assuming your using Plasma 6

In KDE SystemSettings > Keyboard > Shortcuts> Applications you’ll see yakuake

I uncheck f12 and hit the button to the right that should say custom shortcut and choose what you like.

I prefer Alt+q or Alt+ESC to bring it up.

In app shortcuts

Alt+Shift+left/right arrow or up/down arrow= change window size (not permanent)
Ctrl+Shift+t = new tab
Shift+left/right arrow = switch tabs

Making yakuake better:

bottom right corner >Open Menu>Configure Yakuake > Appearance > Get New Skins > and when the window pops up type in at the top “minimal” and choose “breeze-minimal” by hannes

Right click in the Yakuake window and choose >Edit Current Profile> Goto left side > appearance> Goto right side and hit “Get New” button and search for “Vivid Blur Dark Konsole”

Enjoy
