Till now i never had issues with Firewalld. However i now tried setting up a Lan game for the game Grim Dawn (GOG Release) and my server isn’t found on my other computer as long as i have firewalld enabled (when i disable firewalld it works). When checking the list of Apps in firewalld i can’t see anything related to grim dawn so i wonder how would i actually whitelist it?
Find out what ports it uses and add a service for it. Once you do that, it will be on the list.
It seems to be using 27016.
Hey i have found the ports here and added them temporary(runtime). After i added port 42805 i was able to connect.
I thought that i can’t actually add an application to the list. However after your comment i once again checked the services-tab and saw that you can actually add a service there (you have to switch to “permanent” instead of “runtime”). Don’t be surprised: After adding it there it will not immediately show up under “runtime”. You first have to restart the firewalld by systemctl restart firewalld
after that it will also show up under “runtime” so you don’t have to permanently allowing these ports.
Ty for pointing me in the right direction. The term “services” kinda mislead me into thinking it isn’t for “normal applications”.
