How should I install WineHQ?

Hello,

After installing Flatpack/Flathub I need to install now ‘wineHQ’ but I get a lot of options, in the output, and I don’t know what to do … Any comments, suggestions?:

Thank you very much for any advice,

Best regards

I’ld stick to usual arc packages instead of flatpaks.

And if you were in my case, what would you do?:

As I’ve suggested in the other thread. Install a minimal Windows VM for these purposes, either VirtualBox or even VMware which is free for personal usages.

What could I do, who is not an expert, solve by ‘playing around’ with the virtual machine? – I need to know what to do in this case to try to install winehq.

Thanks

With a VM, which is providing a native windows environment, you won’t have these issues of running windows software emulated by wine within the linux environment.

Another option would be to search for software alternatives which are available on linux natively.

NO. But then I would have another “issue” like learning how to configure the VM, which is impossible for me – I find all of them incomprehensibles.

I see, I see … you don’t offer any practical solution, so let’s close the case.

Give this one a try, it looks like the most recent version and is not just the runtime.

1093i3511 did give you solutions and they were good ones IMO. You seem to want the process to be easy, which isn’t always the case with Linux. Practical is in the eyes of the beholder.
