How do i make qt apps look like gtk?

Yes the wiki entry could need some updates … just added the hint from @Scotty_Trees for GNOME and adwaita… but if someone could try and provide some better info on all over getting this working nicely… i will be happy to add this to the wiki!!

What do you suggest the alternative is for DEs like MATE?

qt5ct/qt6ct should work on mate.

To be clear, I am not saying “Don’t use kvantum”. Just saying “Be aware it won’t work with all applications”

but kvantum need sqt5/6 ct anyway to work …

A couple things:

  • Even if you use qt5ct/qt6ct to assign kvantum, you will have the same problem with QML applications
  • I don’t think that you need to use qt5ct/qt6ct with kvantum. It is only one of the ways to set kvantum.

Don’t forget qt6ct as apps gradually migrate to qt6. Unfortunately qt5 and qt6 have distinct individual settings.

indeed… it is currently simply all very confusing … qt5 qt6 gtk3 gtk4 libadwaita … and still in use gtk2 and qt4 in some cases… i do simply do not deal with that currently on my installs
