How do I install the Cinnamon desktop environment

I have KDE Plasma and want to install the Cinnamon desktop environment alongside it.
After entering this command:
sudo pacman -S cinnamon system-config-printer gnome-keyring blueberry cinnamon-translations

It installs, and after restarting the system and selecting it, it doesn’t work. Only some desktop icons appear, and if I open one of them, for example, the file manager, the window’s close, maximize, and minimize buttons do not appear at the top.
What should I do?

You are probably missing some packages.

This file has all the packages we install for cinnamon if you scroll down to the Cinnamon section.

Alternatively, you could install and use the program eos-packagelist to install those packages.

I don’t fully agree with it for WMs specifically, but…

:eyes:

dont dont dont dont dont dont dont dont install Cinnamon from KDE. It would never cross my mind. This has never went well for me.

You obviously have a partition. Now reformat it, put in an iso of endeavour from usb, then do the network install where you can pick Cinnamon and install fresh.

just like my opinion, man

Two DEs are not a good idea. Whenever I get that feeling to change DEs, I do a fresh install after backing things up.
