Hello, I like Unity style , but will not use Unity because don’t want Ubuntu(read https://www.fsf.org/blogs/rms/ubuntu-spyware-what-to-do). I found https://www.reddit.com/user/linuxscoop/comments/t6af2f/my_kde_plasma_with_unity_desktop_style/ and want to do similar but latte-dock not available in packman because outdated, also another reason don’t use latte-dock is it outdating project. How do that in 2026?

That Video is for Plasma 5.24. Its 4 years old. This is completely out of date. Meanwhile we are at Plasma 6.7
Simply work with Plasma Panel. One on top one on left side. Take YARU Icons, look for Plasma unity colorscheme

Latte hasn’t been supported by Plasma for a long time now. If you install it, it’ll cause you more problems than you’d like.
You understand that Ubuntu ditched that Amazon thingy long time ago because of the backslash? That page is 14 years old!
On current releases there’s no that, only optional hardware data that you can share for devs or not. It’s completely voluntary.
Also Ubuntu uses Gnome nowadays and has not been using Unity for a long while, although there’s official spin for it run by small team.

That’s true, but I’m little bit lost why not to use Unity as it’s own.
There’s a new fork call latte-dock-ng but I never try it myself.

Yeah Unity 7.7 was the last release in 2022. Almost 4 years ago. Post that there has not been any update. Their Forum website is not opening anymore. Nor has their blog been updated.
It looks very good. Pity it was based on GTK. Would have loved to have it based on QT.
I used it when it was on Ubuntu. I personally was not a fan, mostly because I had issues with hardware acceleration (those old Nvidia drivers… Brrrr…). On software renderingnit worked okay. Also it felt little bit out of place after good ol’ Gnome. Even though Ubuntu’s current Gnome desktops layout is based on it, I find current use of Gnomen much better.
It somehow got some sort of an following on Ubuntu users and it got official spin some years back, created by youngster, was he like 12 at the time.
you can get pretty close just by putting a full width panel at the top with the system tray and I believe there is a program menu (I know it’s the wrong name) widget that let’s you move the controls from the application to the top panel, and a side panel with the application dashboard or appgrid panel widget and then add favorites and icon only task manager. It’s not exactly the same but you can get pretty close.
