How can I access my home folder when booting from live media?

So let’s assume I don’t have a GUI and I fucked up my system and only the terminal is working. I want to access my files and I decided to boot from a live installation in order to have a gui. How do I access my home folder when booting from that media? Do I have to mount? I don’t think so because it’s not an external “drive”, right?
